Living in a capitalist world, one of the most common (and indeed encouraged) of our social norms is that of the acquisition of property and consumer goods. We are actively encouraged to spend like crazy, and expend as much of our disposable income on the most expensive items. And yet, the bitter irony is that although we spend a lot of money and compare the prices charged for similar products….we always seem to miss the punch line; by virtue of the fact that we never really give much consideration to the process involved in the production of the items we use. Even with eco friendly technology, such as a Solar Powered Battery Charger . There will be readers who will remain cynical about the role that their usage of various appliances plays in relation to the infliction of damage to the environment, especially given how innocuous and innocent they seem. Some of us will grudgingly admit and concede a small measure of culpability, acknowledging the fact that the actual manufacturing process of the appliances and electronic devices is a major source of pollution. However, the polluting effects of our devices does not end there, indeed every time we power or charge them up, is yet another slap in the face for Mother Nature. Whether it is due to electrical batteries which are non bio-degradable, or the electricity we derive from our main power supply which in turn is created using massively polluting fossil fuels: rest assured, it is taking its toll on our planet. Electrical batteries cannot be incinerated; many of them contain plastic which releases a series of poisonous gases which is deadly to humans and organic life as a whole in very small doses, and contain deadly chemicals such as mercury and chloride. Even if it was possible to incinerate them, this is an extremely inefficient method of disposal because a considerable amount of energy and fuel would be required to power the combustion process to reach temperatures high enough to successfully smelt the components down. Given that a significant amount of pollution and power has to be tolerated in order to provide the electricity necessary to fuel the incinerators, it is plain to see that there is a definite catch-22 situation on our hands! It is not all doom and gloom however, for there is a new solution at hand: solar powered battery charger. Given that these are designed to be rechargeable, this means that their lifespan is far greater than their traditional counterparts. This does not mean that they are infinite resources, although there is ongoing research designed to further finesse the longevity of these products. Homeowners that are interested in alternative energy sources such as DIY Solar Power should begin here. It truly is inexpensive, more so now than ever. It doesn’t take long at all for properly build solar power systems to pay for themselves. Of course it depends upon how much sunnier system received. There is a myth that needs be cleared up as well. In order to benefit from solar power it is not necessary to live in a place where the sun is constantly shining. A place that gets just an average amount of sunlight will work just fine. No need to live in a sun scorched desert. E-books and guides are a great place to begin your foray into DIY solar power . The manual lays out exactly how to build solar panels. It starts out with building solar cells. Solar cells are then strung together which in turn form the photovoltaic solar panel. The solar panel is then installed and wired up to the electric service of the house and you’re in business. Sure it sounds easy, but in fact it really isn’t all that difficult. As a matter of fact, the majority of guides are written for people that have no carpentry skills whatsoever. The tools need to get the job done are common and easily attained. The materials needed can be bought anywhere. If you have a favorite home improvement center then you should be able to find everything you need right there. If you like, you can even have everything delivered to you by ordering over the Internet. DIY solar power manuals can be bought over the Internet and downloaded straight to your PC or Mac. The very best of them will also include how-to videos. Panels are formed when solar cells are wired, or strung together and that’s what the videos illustrate. Then it is time for the installation and wiring instructions. Solar energy can be used for many things outside the home and is easily stored in batteries. Solar power can be stored in car batteries. It is ideal for outdoor electrical needs as well. It’s incredibly convenient to have a ready source of electricity wherever needed. If taking advantage of renewable resources is something that interests you then take a look at DIY Solar Power . It’s an outstanding way to not only save money, but to also help preserve the environment. Taking advantage of residential solar is a really smart way to live. Why Build a New Energy Efficient Home When energy is wasted it not only cost you extra money but it also hurt the environment. With the fuel costs raising many people are looking into building a more energy efficient home this will decrease their energy bills. It is a great thing that new homes are now being built to be energy efficient. When an energy efficient house is built there is money that is being saved in the long run. There are mortgage companies that offer incentives for people to build an energy efficient home. There are also federal tax incentives for people that have built these homes. Also by building a new energy efficient home will only increase in value as there are many people that are looking to buy one. By building an energy efficient home you can relax knowing that you have done a major part in conserving your planet. It has been estimated that sixteen percent of greenhouse gasses produced in the United States every year come from energy that is used in homes. So it means that the less energy used that there is less greenhouse gas produced. My profile . By building an energy efficient home there will be no cold breezes blowing through your home making it cold and at time very uncomfortable. The new energy efficient home are protected against cold, heat, drafts, and moisture. It will not only improve the air quality inside but it also keeps the temperature consistent. My profile . When building a new energy efficient home there are other things to consider. Energy efficient windows and doors, solar heat, water saving faucets, appliances that are energy efficient. There are many choices to make in order to go green by building a new energy efficient home should be one that you truly consider. It has become clear to millions that we must now take a serious look at alternative energy sources. The sun and the wind are the two most abundant and accessible. Because of that, DIY Solar Power has become incredibly popular over the past few years. It wasn’t at all long ago that homeowners are paying tens of thousands of dollars to manufacturers for solar power systems. The cost is still exorbitant but the wonderful thing now is that homeowners can make and install their very own solar panels. And it can be done for a fraction of the cost. The process sounds complex, but in actuality to build a solar panel is quite simple. Once more, it can be done using tools and materials purchased at your local home improvement center. No special skills are required so just about anyone that has a mind to can do it themselves. The DIY solar power community is very active and growing which is wonderful because they offer assistance when necessary. Going green by using alternative energy sources has both hobbyists and homeowners feeling good about themselves. It can save save thousands upon thousands on electricity bills. Another benefit is that the home’s value goes up. Improved technology has made constructing solar power systems possible for the average homeowner. Mountings, batteries and solar cells are what it’s made of. It all begins by building solar cells. The rays of the sun are then converted into electricity by the individual cells. The completed cells are then wired together which form the battle. So in essence, it is a group of cells working together that creates the panel. The result is what is known as a photovoltaic solar panel. Photovoltaic is the word used to describe when light is turned into electricity. Installing it would be the final step of the process. Electricity generated is then stored for later use, used immediately or sent to the utility company for credits. Actually it is not sold per se. The utility company then gets sent all of the excess electricity at the house does not use by way of the electrical grid. Credits are rewarded to the homeowner that can be used to offset their electric bill. Going off the grid is the term that is used to describe one at home no longer requires any outside electricity from the utility company. Sounds pretty appealing doesn’t it? That’s because it is. In addition to saving money, DIY Solar Power is also environmentally friendly. Read more on Find Out How DIY Solar Power Can Aid You… Energy Tags: energy , hybrid cars what do green energy cars use?
